Autumn/Fall Etsy Finds

I'm still not sure that I'm in Autumn mode just yet. Here in Ireland it's hard to believe that it's autumn already when it's still so warm! I see many Irish Bloggers putting up outfit posts with coats and scarves and I'm wondering what part of Ireland they're living in! I actually have a fan on in my room it's that warm! :D

That being said, Halloween is in stores at the moment and getting me very excited. The smell of pumpkin spice and musty scents is making me crave the Autumn. Of course not the dull rainy days but the cold, frosty, sunshiny days that we sometimes get in here in Autumn. The leaves are all changing colour and with the sun that we are having at the moment, everywhere is starting to look golden.

So I thought I would finally do some Autumn posts getting us really for when the weather does finally change. When it hits us, I know we'll feel it!

First up I have a Autumn/Fall themed Etsy Finds. I'm also doing a Halloween Etsy Finds over on my Spooky Ash blog! What's Spooky Ash you ask? Well I've decided to start up my own blog for all things spooky, Halloween, movies, music and just anything nerdy/geeky! I didn't want to be overflowing Sempre Sorres with random stuff and wanted to keep it mostly beauty and fashion and collaborations with Kerrie! I also didn't want Kerrie's post to get lost! So if you're a Halloween fan (or Horror movie fan) head over to my Halloween Etsy Finds #1 after this! The first part includes Halloween related home decor and the second part will have jewellery, accessories and more!

I just love everything this guy does! These are perfect for those cool autumn days when you're outside or just relaxing inside (watching The X Files of course!).

How amazing is this hooded cloak by PhantomLovely?! I am in love with this. It's quite pricy and I usually wouldn't link anything with that price but my god it's totally worth it! Something I would love to buy in future for sure.

Simple but so cute and they would really add a lovely autumn vibe to any outfit.

Chokers really took over this summer but I can definitely see them travelling into autumn/winter especially plain black ribbon or velvet ones! Be sure to have a good look around though and get a good price. A lot of people are making the same ones and have them very expensive. I bought the plastic tattoo chokers on Aliexpress for about €2 for a pack of 5 and I see people buying them in Claires Accessories for €8 just for one!!! Crazy!!

Any Hannibal fan out there is going to love this one. It's certainly what it reminds me of! But it's actually intertwining twigs not antlers. Very witchy and would go great with a pair of brass crescent moon earrings which are available from the same shop the silver ones above are from.

Both necklaces are by the wonderful Ruby Robin Boutique! Her handmade Irish jewelry is to die for and so very Autumn! It's hard not to feature all of her beautiful jewelry.

Unfortunately this cute little wooden badger brooch is sold but I couldn't not show it! It's just too cute! The seller might have it for sale again in future though, I hope!

These are actually for Cosplay but I would for sure wear these super cute fingerless paw gloves out and about in the crisp autumn weather!

Raccoon Cushion Plush

How cute is this guy?! I wanna cuddle him!

And lastly we have this amazing and super cute Fox bag from the same shop the Raccoon cushion is from! They also have lots of other fox items including some cute doggies and owls as well! :D

Feeling the autumness yet?! :D For more Autumn Etsy Finds you can view this Autumn list I made on Etsy! I will be adding to it over time.

Don't forget to head over to Spooky Ash and take a look at my Halloween Etsy Finds! :)

Thanks for reading!

FOTD - Wet 'n' Wild Comfort Zone

My face of the day using Wet 'N' Wild's 'Comfort Zone' pallet on my eyes.  These shadows are so pigmented and lovely and soft.  They are all shimmery, which I like but if you aren't a fan they may not be for you.  They can be worn intensly or used sparingly as a soft wash of colour.

** That is a scar on the lower right eye as you look at the pics (not stray eyeliner :P)

With and Without Glasses

Focus on the eye; I used Maybellines 'On and On Bronze' as a base.
In the corner to the middle I used the 'eyelid' shade on the left of the WnW pallet
Followed by the left 'definer' shader on the outer eyelid blended inwards.
Next I blended up and highlight under brow with the 'browbone' shade on the right hand side of the pallet.
I lined top and bottom water line with Urban Decay Demolition pencil and did my upper liner with L'oreal Superliner

My Brows are filled using an angled brush and a mix of 'Naked 2'and 'Crave' from the UD Naked Basics Pallet. Then I went over them with MeMeMe's 'Arch Angel' Brow gel to add texture.

On my lashes I've got the Eyeko Skinny Brush Mascara

For my base I primed with Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer.  Covered redness with Vichy Dermablend Foundation Stick.  My foundation is the Bourjois Healthy Mix in Vanilla Clair. My undereye concealer is the Rimmel 'Wake me Up' in Ivory 10.

You can find Wet n Wild & Catrice Cosmetics in Ireland in Penny's and various Pharmacies.  Look out for MeMeMe in your local Chemist too :)

Until next time,

Aishling's July Empties

I'm going to start with two products I've had featured in an empties post before. They are the Lee Stafford Treatment For Hair That Never Grows Past A Certain Length and No.7's Essential Moisture Day Cream. The hair treatment is not only good if you want your hair to grow out but as a conditioner on it's own it's amazing! The moisturiser is my go to one that I've been using for years now and if you want to know more about both products head over to my June Empties post where I talk about them a bit more.

On the left we have Garnier's Eye Make-Up Remover. Now we all know I don't have great things to say about the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water which I also reviewed in my June Empties, I can't say I'm a fan and won't be purchasing it again if I can. But this Eye Make-Up Remover from them is actually a lot better. It's great at removing waterproof mascara and gets nearly every bit off. It does say non greasy but I do get some kind of residue afterwards but it doesn't matter to me cos I wash my face after anyhow. But over all I do really like this. The only thing I dislike about it is the size. It's very small and even for the price too. If it's on offer I will be purchasing again.

On the right is Aussie's Colour Mate Shampoo. Now I think way back in one of my YouTube Empties video's I talk about how I don't like Aussie and how it stops working for me after awhile. While I still believe that, buying it after not using it for so long, really showed me how great this shampoo is while it lasts. It leaves my hair so soft and less frizzy and helps slightly to keep my colour lasting a bit longer. It will soon lose its touch though and then I'll be sad.

On the left is Garnier Mineral InvisiCool 48hr Anti-Perspirant which was recommended by Kerrie in one of our Empties videos as well haha! I'm being very repetitive, sorry about that :P But this is a great deodorant! It doesn't leave any white marks and even in this crazy heat we've gotten in Ireland lately it lasts so long, even to the next day! Top marks from me!

On the right is Vichy Normaderm Toner which I wish wasn't here but unfortunately silly Steve left it in a bag with the top open and most of it spilled out! We have a little left but I thought I'd include it in this empties anyhow. It's a great toner and you can really feel it working and tightening without drying the hell out of your face.

***

That's all this months empties! Sorry about the repeat products but I thought I'd include them again in case you guys missed my last empties or haven't seen any of our YouTube videos!

More posts coming soon! Until then, let me know what you've used up recently! :D

Aishling's FOTD #2

This is a look I've been going for a lot recently. I used to go for very colourful looks but I'm liking more neutral colours right now, like this FOTD! I also think I'm repeating myself cos I feel like I said this in my last FOTD. Oh well :P

Face: I prime my face with the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer which even though I have dry skin actually helps prevent dry patches oddly!

I then use Vichy Dermablend Ultra-Corrective Foundation Cream-Stick for all my redness. I have extreme redness all over my face. The only place I don't really have it is my forehead. So I have to use a good concealer under my foundation to get rid of as much redness as I can. I have to laugh at some people who say they have redness when they mostly have super pale faces with little red patches. You know nothing! :P This concealer is really good though, it has amazing coverage but still somehow manages to be so lightweight and does not make my skin really heavy or feel like I have anything under my foundation at all. The only negative thing it's done for me was show up pores for some reason. I thought being advertised the way it was, it would really know how to cover lumps and bumps but anyhow once you put your foundation over it that disappears. I've also never had any breakouts from this concealer or enlarged pores or anything like that. It's super good overall.

I then use my Revlon ColorStay Foundation for Normal/Dry Skin in 110 Ivory all over and I don't even have to use that much of it either because the Vichy concealer has done most of the job.

After that I just used my *NYX HD Photogenic Concealer in CW01 Porcelain for under my eyes. This concealer isn't great. I had to stop using the Collection concealer because it's so dry and shows up my lines under my eyes soooo badly. Unfortunately, I bought this NYX one hoping it would be better but its actually quite the same as the Collection one. So I am on the look out for a great coverage concealer for under the eyes that doesn't show up lines. If anyone has any recommendations (Cheap or pricey) let me know! A positive on this concealer though, it's great at brightening and highlighting especially along the brow bone.

Brush: I've always just used my fingers to put on my foundation but I stole Kerrie's Real Techniques Buffing Brush and gave it a go and can't believe how awesome it was! It cut my foundation routine length in half, actually not even in half, more like it takes no time whatsoever! I really really have to get myself some Real Techniques brushes myself. It also puts much more fun into doing your makeup because you can spend more time doing the rest of your face. I find I'm doing my winged eyeliner great now because I'm not so wore out from blending in my foundation with my hands!

I contoured with the awesome Real Techniques Contour Brush and MeMeMe Shimmer Stack in Bronze using the darkest colour. It has a nice shimmer but not too much.

Eyebrows: I have very dark brows. They're pretty much black. I use the blackest eyeshadow I have for them. So in steps the amazing HB Brows Vamp Palette which I also stole from Kerrie haha! :D The colour carbon is my colour. Don't get me wrong I love jet black eyebrows and will rock them whenever I can but HB's Carbon is a perfect match for my eyebrows. Well close to it anyhow :P I don't think Carbon is jet black but its not very brown either, it's just really nice dark natural colour for my brows.

Eyes:
Base: For the base I used Maybelline's Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze which I use lots as a base and just a colour on its own! It's amazing!

I then put Revlon Colorstay 16 Hour Eyeshadow "Adventurous" Number 4 into the outer corners and along the bottom lash line but then I decided it wasn't dark enough so I put some of Rimmel's Matte Eyeshadow in Jet Black over it.

Lastly I pressed some of Number 2 from the Revlon "Adventurous" Palette which is a beautiful gold leaf kind of colour into the middle of both my eyelids.

I tightlined with Rimmel's Soft Kohl Eyeliner Pencil in Jet Black and then on my waterline I put *NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk which didn't last too long in the end but I did like how it looked before it disappeared! I will soon have to get a Kohl white eyeliner.

My winged eyeliner was done with *Wet N' Wilds Mega Liquid Liner in Black which is an amazing liquid eyeliner especially for the price! It's nice and short so you can hold it close to your eyes which I think makes it easier to get a precise application.

I then finished off the eye look with some mascara. At the moment I'm using Eyeko Lengthening Skinny Brush Mascara which I like lots and has lasted me so long!

I hope you liked this simple look and let me know in the comments below!
I'd also love to know what your favourite concealers are, as I said, I'm on the look out for a new one!

*NYX has just arrive in Ireland and you can find the list of stockists here. Wet N' Wild is available in Dunnes Stores and a lot Pharmacies in Ireland.

A Book a Day for July - The Final List! Pt1

Yes I fail so bad at blogging but I shall persevere and share with you my #bookaday for the month of July.  Check out @DoubledayUK where this challenge originated and follow the hashtag for everybodys book a day choices.

This is Part One of Two Posts because it's so long! Enjoy

Day 1 - A book that made you laugh out loud

  • If you want a good laugh read this! (but then get mad cos so much rings true...) Read it and weep in more ways than one!

Day 2 - Favourite SF/Fantasy Novel for World UFO Day

  • This needs no explaination :)

Day 3 - Favourite Novel In Translation
  • A classic and certainly a recommended read.

Day 4 - All Time Favourite American Novel

  • Sylvia Plath the Bell Jar.  A tough read but something that will stay with you forever after.

Day 5 - Most Delicious Novel About Food

  • Oh delicous chocolate and sweeties, who didn't want to try all of the things in this book when they were a kid? (and an adult :P)

Day 6 - Which Book Will You Put Down Today To Watch The Wimbledon Tennis Final

  • Noel Browne's Against The Tide was the book I was reading at the time, I did watch the wimbledon final!

Day 7 - Most Chocolatey Novel

  • I've used up my chocolate on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I don't think you can get much more chocolatey*...
 *matilda!

Day 8 - Favourite Great War Novel

  • I haven't read a Great War Novel but i'll pass you over to my boyfriend for his choice - Sebastian Barry's A Long Long Way (which I intend to read myself).  He says; "This book sheds some new light on the plight of Irish men in the British Army and really brought home the true horror of life in the trenches, I wasn't expecting much from it but it was absoutly superb."

Day 9 - Most Irritating Character in A Novel

  • For me it's the title character in The Diceman, I didn't hate hate hate this book but I found it supremely irritating. It's an interesting idea but I wish Luke Rhienhart was killed off on the first page!

Day 10 - Novel with most memorable Picnic

  • Nope, nothing for this one, sorry!

Day 11 - The Book That Made You Cry

  • The only book that made me cry.  DAMN THOSE BEES!

Day 12 - Novel That Best Conjured A Place For You

  • That is certainly That They May Face The Rising Sun, it captures rural Ireland perfectly particularly the Leitrim area.  I'd also give a shout out to Colm Tobin all of his novels have been so well described that I can picture the people and places.

Day 13 - Best Title For A Novel

  • For me it's yet again 'That They May Face The Rising Sun', it just goes to show just how many things I love this book.   I think it's a very poignent moment in the book when the title is explained.  Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep is a great title too ;)

Day 14 - Your Favourite Novel About or Set in France

  • A nice read not too heavy in tone and captures the atmosphere and life in Paris in the 20's very well

Day 15 - Lucky Dip! The Theme Chosen was 'The last book you bought'

  • I actually bought  a few books together, they were Russel Brand's My Booky Wook, The Hours by Michael Cunningham and The Secret Self ; short stories by women  by Hermonie Lee.  And all for only €1.50 at a local market!  WOOP for BOOKS!

Thanks for reading, Part 2 coming soon!
