Sempre Sorres November Photo Challenge! Come Join In!

I'm crap at doing any kind of photo challenges and can never seem to keep up with them mainly because there is always a lot of themes I can never seem to get a photo of (example: sunset (we rarely get sunsets in Ireland especially this time of the year!), citrus?!, Your weakness (Really?! I don't want anyone to know that. My nemesis would know all my secrets!), Children, Pattern, Sky, Reflection, etc. etc. etc. They're either too hard to photography, not interesting enough or just don't motivate me! While I like others in the challenges, the reason I want to do them in the first place, others just put me off. Then I thought why not make my own? Why not come up with themes I think I'd be able to complete and that are interesting enough to keep me motivated?!

So I did it. Here is the Sempre Sorres November Photo Challenge that anyone can do! Now you can see there is some pretty simple ones in there (Breakfast, Dinner, Nature, Rain) but I didn't want them to be too out there either. I just wanted to be able to get up some days and not have to put a lot of work into some of them. Just a snap. While others (make up looks based on films/musicians, Historical, Graveyard, Home Town ec.) would take some effort and get you out and about!

I'm not going to post a photo a day because I'd spam you guys too much! I will update every week til the end of November with the photos I've taken :) Feel free to do it yourself! I really would love to see your photos! And remember its just for fun so don't worry about missing some days! :D

I'm really excited about this and can't wait to get started! I really do hope some of you guys join in! Let me know if you guys like my picks for each day!

Keep an eye for next week when I'll have all the photos I've taken in the week up! If you can't wait you can follow me on Instagram, Twitter and Tumblr to see my daily progress ;)

Thanks for reading! :)

Nail Art: Halloween Slime

Hi guys! I really wanted to put up some more Halloween related blog posts over the last while but could just never get around to it. But I thought I would post this quick Halloween related nail art I did the other day. I done these on Monday and they've lasted me until now. Only some very slight chipping. I don't have the greatest nails and I'm not the best at nail art (even something as simple as this) but I liked out it turned out.

I used Collection 2000 Black and Barry M's Spring Green for the green slime. I applied a good blob of green to the tops of my nails and then used a bobby pin to move down the green like slime oozing down! The brush applicator for Spring Green is actually quite small and I found out you can pretty much make the oozing with it so you don't need a bobby pin after all!

When it was all finished I let it dry. The drying process is the worst part of it all. It takes ages. It was a good 2 hours before I went to bed and still in the morning it got all smudged. But I applied another top coat of OPI's Top Coat and it evened it out brilliantly and got rid of the smudging and ridges.

I will definitely be trying this again! I might also try and do some eyeballs! I've seen them around and love it!
Will you be trying any spoopy Halloween nails for this year? Let me know!

Hope you enjoyed!

I hope to have some photos up tomorrow or the next day of my Halloween decorations around my house and I should also be carving those pumpkins you can see in the photos! :D So keep watching!

Wishlist: New Look - Autumn/Winter Boots

The only boots I own are Doc Martens. I love them oh so very much and especially coming into the colder and wetter weather. I have been searching for a new ankle boot though. They give an amazing edge to any outfit and are perfect for Autumn and Winter.

The one I'm drooling over at the moment is this amazing Black Chunky Cut Out Buckle Ankle Boots €39.99. I'm in love with them! I love how chunky they are, the little bit of a wedge/heel, the 90's look and those buckles! Also love the little cut out bit! I love wearing cute socks and would love to have them peeking out! Not sure they'd be great for the very wet weather but still their looks win it for me.

Next up are these amazing Black Leather Biker Boots €85.99. On the pricy side but they're real leather. They're definitely a great Autumn/Winter boot! Keeping you nice and dry while you stomp through everything! And how amazing would they make any outfit look?

I love all the detail. Especially the studded strap around the back of the boot.

With those two being my favourites here are a few more I really like!

These are all from New Look as they have an amazing collection of boots and clothes at the moment! Next up I will have a New Look Clothes Wishlist so watch this space...!!

Shop My Stash!

Hi hope you're having a good day.  If you are anything like me you probably have a ton of beauty products purchased because you 'needed' them at the time, only to find them idling at the back of the drawer after their 15 minute of fame aka "ugh not sure I like that to the back of draw with you!".

So with the aim of using all this 'crap' I have accumulated and try to make it work.  I decided to 'Shop my Stash',  if you're not familiar with this concept basically it means you 'shop' through your own stash of products and choose those that you don't often use or haven't seen light of day since you took them home! You never know you might save some money and find some new favourites you never knew you had, or a new way of using a product you though you didn't like.

My finished face!

I selected a concealer I've never tried since purchasing! That's the Rimmel Clear complexion pictured below, along with a Chit Chat Highlighting Concealer, I bought that in Dealz but totally forgot I had it!.  On my faces I used - Avon MagiX cashmere finish foundation in Ivory.  I had stopped using the Avon foundation as I found it clung to the dry patches.  I mixed it with Estee Lauder Double Wear, this is a sample size I've only tried once or twice, it has great coverage but is a little too dark for me, it mixed well with the pinkish tone of the avon fondation.  I used 2 essence products that were rolling around, one is the shimmer and shade highlighter and the other is vintage district blush.

Next I picked through the multitude of eye liners, shadows, pigments, dusts, mascaras etc.  I chose my usual HD Brows palette as I have nothing to replace that!  My elf eyelid primer that I always forget to use.  An Essence eyeshadow trio.  A rimmel kohl liner.  Essence liquid liner.  Urban Decay 24/7 liner.  Two Frontcover purple/blue shimmer and glitter pigments. A primark eye dust in Pink.  And Rimmel Volume Accelerator mascara.

For the lips I picked a Pink lippie I got in a Glossybox some time ago and an essence XXXL lipgloss in a purple shade.

Overall I was quite happy with how the foundation turned out, the Avon mixed will and applied a lot better for me, lasting all day and not turning patchy.  The Rimmel concealer I don't like, it's too thick and doesn't blend at all well, it's looks dry and needed a lot of work to make it look just ok.  The chit chat/dealz concealer works great as a highlight under the eye/browbone I do like that one.  The shimmer and shade is workable but not my favourite, I have trouble making it look good on the skin.  I quite like the vintage district blush but I find it lacks pigmentation.

The eyes were the real 'discovery' products here!  I am really getting to like the elf lid primer, it does make the colours cling and 'pop' that bit more.  The middle shade in the trio, was a revelation, it looks silver but actually is a fab silver/blue colour and looked stunning as a base for the front cover shades which are hightly pigmented. You will get fall out from these but they are shimmery and glittery so I expected as much.  I used my mac 217 to blend a little of the pink into the crease and man it is a bright colour - a little goes a long way!

I need to remember to use my urban decay pencils much more - they are soooooooooo long lasting and the colour is awesome.  The rimmel kohl pencil I don't love, though it is creamy and glides on easily, it tended to clump and gather at the corners of my eyes after a couple of hours, not a good look!

The essence liner is good, it has a lovely small brush.  However as I haven't used liquid liner in ages I did have trouble with application and I'm not happy with that but that's down to me rather that the product.  It is very long lasting.  However it dries kinda tight feeling and I don't like that on my eyes.  Finally the mascara is good but a little too clumpy for my small lashes and the brush is not my favourite kind.

Here's another pic of the final face - I was going for 'Purple Galaxy Eyes'

I must say that Glossybox lippie was really nice and creamy!  a light pink shade with a small amount of the puple gloss over top, the gloss looks glittery in the tube but I didn't find it was gritty or uncomfortable on the lips.

I am going to do this again as I have lots of stuff to rediscover in my collection.  Thanks for reading and bye for now!

Kerrie's September Favourites

Hi there, Kerrie here with my September favourites.  Here is a quick run down of my favourite things and stuff I've enjoyed through the month.  You can watch my YouTube Video below to hear a little more.  Hope you enjoy!

First up is my new favourite skin care product, the 'Jill Stuart Japan Makeup Cleansing Oil' I have it in the 50ml version.  I bought this as I had read so many blog posts and mentions of people using an oil for taking off the makeup, and so I ended up buying this, I have no idea if it was a recommendation or maybe I just like the bottle! (tis very pretty!) It's a lovely consistency, not too thick but a little more viscous than water.  I just shake a few drops out onto my hand - I love that it has a sprinkler and not just an open top.  Then I rub that all over ma face! and it just melts the make up off, even tough mascara.  Wash with warm water and you're good to go.
I bought this from Ebay shop AlphaBeauty however it's no longer listed there, however you can buy the full size if you search ebay.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush - I think everyone and their mother has hear of the these brushes at this stage and I must say I love mine.  I have the core collection and the eye set.  My favourite face brush is the buffing brush.  I used it to buff in concealer and foundation.  It's a great brush, easy to wash and really good value. You can buy these in Boots in Ireland and UK or see their website

Real Techinques Brow Brush - Again this is from my eye brush set.  I had been using my Avon brush, which was labeled an eyeliner brush for my brows for some time and loved it.  However I managed to wreck it (long story) and had to use something else.  I wasn't too keen on the RT Brush at first because it was so much thicker than my old fave. However I've gotten to really enjoy it.  It's a lot thicker and that helps me to have more control, it just works really well.  As before go to Boots or their website

Mac 217 - I wanted one of these for so long and then my BF bough me one for Christmas!  This is awesome as a blending brush, if you only have one blending brush make it this!  I seem to use it every time I do my eyes. So far irreplaceable, I wish I had a few more ;) See here for more details.

Bronze Deer Pendant - I bought this for myself from ebay (if you search bronze deer pendant you might find a similar one) and I love it! especially for autumn winter it goes nicely with the colours and outfits i'm wearing.

Owl Pendant (gift) - This was a birthday gift from Aishling, like the Deer pendant i've been loving this along side my owl ring!

Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Body Butter - This is a deliciously buttery, spicy treat for your skin.  It was a Christmas special afaik, and I happened to win it last year, I wish i could remember who from and give them a shout out but I can't sorry!.  I had used a little but got turned off the smell, but recently I have been trying up use up extra products I have sitting around before purchasing new stuff and I began to use this again and I really see it in a new light!  It moisturises so well, as my skin can be quite dry. I can react to some scents but this has been fine for my skin and the scent lasts so long.  I can't wait to try more of the Body Shops' body butters!

Hilary Mantel Bring Up the Bodies- My favourite book of recent times was Wolf Hall and I've thoroughly enjoyed this follow up this month. I actually finished it last night 'SOB' ! I recommend it, a well written page turner, just and enjoyable read and not too taxing.   You can find it on Amazon.

ELF Nail Polish in Royal Purple - Again a hidden jem in my collection since last year.  I wanted to apply something seasonal to my nails and saw this and now I'm wondering why I didn't use this before! it's a georgous shade, I'd say a purple/magenta.  Find it on ELF website

Bag/back pack from Pennys/Primark - LOVE this bag, everything fits into it bar the kitchen sink and it goes on my back.  Need I say more!

Blistex Relief Cream - Holy grail/couldn't live without product.  Great when your lips are in bits or just as a base for lipsticks.  I'd recommend this to everyone. I buy this in my local boots but you may need to ask for it as sometimes it's not on the shelf! Find more info on it here.

Boots Botanics Organic Rosewater Toner - As I changed up my moisturiser and face scrub I noticed i was getting break outs of spots and but it down to the pores opening and closing therefore cream was blocking them up.  I started using this toner and it has eliminiated the problem.  It's a lovely toner, no stinging or harshness and it's smells lovely of roses.   This is my bottle but i see on boots.com it now comes in a 'spritz' bottle.

Little Hotties Wax Melts from Bomb Cosmetics - Love these instead of candles at the moment, they are little wax tarts that you melt in a burner and they will make your room smell awesome!  Find them @bombcosmetics.co.uk

PHEW, that's all for now.  Please like, subscribe, share and all that stuff and bye for now!

It's strange doing a video on my own so please forgive my awkwardness and stumbling over my words :P Also I think the focus is on the background and not me! Oh well! Enjoy and don't forget to comment and let me know what you think and if you've tried or will be trying any of the products mentioned! :)
