Nail Art: Halloween Slime

Hi guys! I really wanted to put up some more Halloween related blog posts over the last while but could just never get around to it. But I thought I would post this quick Halloween related nail art I did the other day. I done these on Monday and they've lasted me until now. Only some very slight chipping. I don't have the greatest nails and I'm not the best at nail art (even something as simple as this) but I liked out it turned out.

I used Collection 2000 Black and Barry M's Spring Green for the green slime. I applied a good blob of green to the tops of my nails and then used a bobby pin to move down the green like slime oozing down! The brush applicator for Spring Green is actually quite small and I found out you can pretty much make the oozing with it so you don't need a bobby pin after all!

When it was all finished I let it dry. The drying process is the worst part of it all. It takes ages. It was a good 2 hours before I went to bed and still in the morning it got all smudged. But I applied another top coat of OPI's Top Coat and it evened it out brilliantly and got rid of the smudging and ridges.

I will definitely be trying this again! I might also try and do some eyeballs! I've seen them around and love it!
Will you be trying any spoopy Halloween nails for this year? Let me know!

Hope you enjoyed!

I hope to have some photos up tomorrow or the next day of my Halloween decorations around my house and I should also be carving those pumpkins you can see in the photos! :D So keep watching!

Halloween Fun!

There are lots of fun & spooky things to do in Ireland this Halloween, here are a few of my favourites.

Virginia Pumpkin Festival 2012
Takes place in Virginia Co. Cavan 25-29 October.  Where you can go on a haunted Forest Walk! Prepare to meet ghosties, ghouls and witches, plus snacks will be provided - what more could you ask for!  See the site for all the details.  They also have a fancy dress ball, apparently 2000 people will be dressed up for the occasion, making it Irelands largest fancy dress, if you're not content with opportunity to dress up, you could win one of over €2000 worth of prizes! There will be a parade and fireworks and an artisan food fare.
Don't forget the Giant Pumpkin weigh-in!

Bram Stoker Festival
Takes place in Dublin 26-28 October 2012.  Celebrating the life and work of Bram Stoker, the author of Dracula.  You can see the earliest inscribed copy of Dracula at the exhibition in The Little Museum on St. Stephens Green.  Listen to chilling vampire and horror stories underground in Christchurchs' Gothic Crypt.  Learn all about Bats (alas only for kids :() The Long Hub in Trinity will be the location for a discussion on what our fascionation with all things vampire is about.  The play 'Stoker' uses Victoriana, special effects and an origional score to tell the story of Bram on stage at the Samuel Beckett Theatre.
Then treat yourself to a scare at meeting house square and watch Nosferatu with a live soundtrack played by 3epkano.  Finally the Spraoi Theatre Group re-create 19th Century Dublin and you are encouraged to wear Victorian or horror inspired clothes!

Farmaphobia
Held at Causy Farm Co. Meath.  This year they have a Zombie Morgue which sounds awesome! There's also a haunted house and a canyon of carnage (they've done well with the names!) and who doesn't want to go into the house of horrors! This is part of the Spirits of Meath Festival there are loads of events listed and some with a warning that it may be too much for younger people so that's the one i'd go for!

Belvedere Scarecrow Festival
Here you get to make a Scarecrow and have it displayed at Belvedere House and Gardens where it will be judged by a panel and there is a 'peoples choice award' there are several catagories so kids can enter, groups or individuals and prizes include a rozette, belvedere passes and bowling prizes :)  I soooo wanna do this! plus if you enter you get a free 2day pass to the House and gardens.

Happy Hallowe'en!

Recently Purchased: Halloween

The 2 Euro Shop (and Dealz) are selling awesome Halloween decorations this year. I bought (and my boyfriend bought me) a few things that not only will be great for halloween but I'm definitely keeping in my room year round! :D

My boyfriend modeling one of the two skull mugs we got at the 2 Euro Shop :P

A little light up ghost I got in Dealz! I don't think he was even €2. He changes colours as well and is very cute in my window :)

Some awesome temporary tattoos from the 2 Euro Shop! A Kitty on my boyfriends arm and a Bat for me. Steve's didn't last long because of the hair on his arm but mine lasted nearly 2 days. There is 48 tattoos in a pack. Cats, Bats, Pumpkins, Ghosts, Witches and Spiders!

Little badges that flash when you turn them on. I thought they'd be pretty crappy but the flash on them is so bright!

Halloween ornament that is well worth the €2 cos its really heavy and has glitter on it.

My boyfriend surprised me with these awesome skull fairly lights that I put over my door!

I have some window sticker decorations as well but haven't got them up yet but when I do I shall take some photos! It's incredible hard not to buy all the cute and awesome Halloween decorations for so cheap! Especially if you're like me and will use them year round ;)
